Why a strategic plan?

Niger is experiencing growing development of nuclear and radiological activities: uranium mining, medical applications, scientific research. Faced with these challenges, ARSN developed its Strategic Plan 2024–2028 to structure and strengthen its regulatory action.

This plan is aligned with IAEA international standards (IRRS, ARTEMIS) and Niger's sustainable development goals, ensuring that all use of radiation is carried out with absolute respect for the safety of people and the environment.

Activity growth
40% increase in declared radioactive sources since 2020
IAEA standards
Alignment with IRRS, ARTEMIS and GSR Part 1 recommendations
Capacity building
Training of 30+ national experts in radiation protection and safety
Enhanced security
