03

Submit to ARSN

Same procedure as the initial application. Clearly mention 'Renewal Application' and your current authorisation number.

Modification

Declare a modification

Any significant change in your activity must be declared to ARSN before implementation. Here are the situations that trigger a declaration obligation.

Major modification

Main equipment change

Replacement of a scanner, radiotherapy unit, radiation generator or any category 1 to 3 radioactive source. Requires a new authorisation or formal amendment.

Major modification

Relocation or construction

Relocation of activity premises, modification of radiation shielding (shielded walls, lead lining), change of address. Prior inspection required by ARSN.

Minor modification

Change of RPO

Replacement of the Radiation Protection Officer (resignation, departure, change of contractor). The new RPO must be approved by ARSN.

Minor modification

Change of legal officer

Change of manager, owner, company name or legal status of the authorisation holder. Simple administrative update.

Major modification

Activity extension

Addition of a new technique or type of activity not covered by the existing authorisation (e.g. adding nuclear medicine to a radiology department).

Cessation

Activity cessation

Definitive or temporary closure of the regulated activity. ARSN must be notified for the return of the authorisation and the organisation of source management.

Modification declaration procedure
01
Identify the type of modification
Consult the table above to determine whether your modification is major or minor and the applicable deadline.
02
Prepare the declaration
Modification form + supporting documents according to type (plans, technical sheets, new RPO contract…).
03
Submit to ARSN
File submission to the RPD. For major modifications, do not make any change before ARSN written agreement.
04
